CII Industry 4.0 Maturity Assessment

• Recognizing the importance of Smart Manufacturing and its potential for inclusive development and societal transformation, CII is preparing the Industry 4.0 Maturity Assessment Report with an assessment framework for gauging the level of adoption of smart manufacturing and guiding companies on their smart journey.

• The focus of the assessment is to identify areas for improvement where Industry should invest resources to maximize the benefits of Industry 4.0, plan skill enhancement and move up on maturity curve. The assessment will assist industry in understanding the gaps in industry adoption from the perspectives of people, processes, and technology, as well as determining its current state with respect to the level of industrialization and to state a goal state (Industry 1.0 to 4.0).

• The survey results are expected to help policymakers in developing policies for Industry 4.0, skill enhancement on automation, and quality and productivity issues. The responses received from CII's members will be kept strictly confidential.

The Indian manufacturing industry is one of the fastest-growing sectors, contributing 16-17% of India’s GDP, with a target to reach 25% by 2025. As a key pillar of the country’s economic growth, industries such as automotive, engineering, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and consumer durables play a crucial role in shaping its future.

 

With rapid technological advancements, evolving product designs, and increasing global competition, manufacturing organizations must continuously innovate to remain future-ready. In this context, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is pleased to launch the Inaugural Edition of the National Best Practices Award on Future Ready Manufacturing.
