Challenges faced before implementation

The manufacturing facilities need to be flexible for delivering quality product at an optimum cost. Organizations should be more responsive and agile to meet the customers demand.

The machinery and automation industry are changing rapidly with the emergence of new technologies. Traditional equipment which focuses on mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines should now respond with new data-driven solutions.

There were two main challenges that were faced before implementing the solution –

  • Integration of new technology in obsolete machines
  • No direct availability of data from existing systems

About industry 4.0 solution

In our factory, we have enabled our machines for data collection, by connecting more than 500 sensors. It is delivering the real time condition monitoring of equipment’s and provides prompt alerts of premature failure, thus increases the availability of the machines. The real time data of equipments are logged in to manufacturing execution system (DRONA) which provides the alerts in the form of emails / SMS to the concerned departments.

Secondly, predictive modelling provides the ability to automatically trigger the abnormality and thus enable us to take corrective actions.
